Serving the Tobyhanna community, Coolbaugh Elementary & Learning Centers are home to more than 900 students and 85 professional employees and support staff. Opened in 1990, Coolbaugh Elementary Center (C.E.C.) is located on Route 611 in the tiny village of Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania. Coolbaugh Learning Center is located on Main Street in Tobyhanna.
One of the Pocono Mountain School District's many elementary centers, C.E.C. houses 50 classrooms, a cafeteria/multipurpose room, a gymnasium, and a library. Students enjoy the use of two science classroom/laboratories, diagnostic reading and mathematics labs, two fully equipped computer laboratories, and classroom computers, illustrating Pocono Mountain's commitment to technological advancements in education.
The student body consists of children in grades kindergarten through five. Students acquire a well-rounded education, receiving instruction not only in academic subjects, but also in music, art, physical education, technology and swimming. Active participation in band, chorus, skiing, and drama is also recommended in the fourth and fifth grades.
